Located in the heart of Seattle on 23rd and Jackson, Wally’s NW Soul is a Black-owned restaurant bringing authentic Southern soul food, bold flavors, and a whole lot of love to the community.
Founded by Seattle native Walter “Wally” Washington, the restaurant was inspired by his Southern roots and the love of cooking passed down from his grandmother. Growing up, Wally learned the secrets of Southern cooking right in his grandmother’s kitchen, where every meal was made from scratch, seasoned to perfection, and prepared with love. Those family traditions are the heart and soul of everything served at Wally’s NW Soul today.
After more than 10 years of serving the community through catering, Wally recently opened his very first storefront, bringing his famous dishes and family recipes to the corner of 23rd and Jackson.

Our famous fried catfish is crispy, golden, and seasoned just right, with mouthwatering flavors like lemon pepper and honey hot. Our fried chicken is just as unforgettable, available in delicious flavors including honey garlic, honey hot, and lemon pepper.
